6th Grade Builds Trebuchets and Catapults
December 06, 2016

Trinity Christian School 6th grade students in Mrs. Kristin Kyzer’s History Class built trebuchets and catapults while learning about the medieval time period.  Building these simple machines helped students learn across the curriculum by engaging skills learned in other classrooms, as well as enriching the learning experience in their history class.  Upon completion of their project, students participated in a “Launch Off” against one another to win recognition of the longest launch.  Luke Bailey and Jack Sharkey won the catapult division with a 30 yard marshmallow launch while Emma Leigh Lawerence built the longest launching trebuchet.
