Middle School Track & Field Has Success at Region

Trinity Christian Middle School Track teams were in action at the Brentwood JV Relays on April 18 as their region meet of the year.  The boys’ team had a strong performance earning 90 points to finish second to Bulloch Academy Gators (108).  The remaining scoring teams were Gatewood (70), John Milledge (65), Briarwood (63), Pinewood (34), Thomas Jefferson (16.5), Brentwood (12.5), and Edmund Burke (9).  The young girls’ squad made a valiant effort in the ten-team meet.

Gabe Meadows had a personal best performance leaping 16 feet 6 inches to win the long jump and placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet 5 inches.   

Jackson Brack tossed two personal best throws to finish second in the shot put with a season best of 35 feet 7 inches.  In the discus event, Ben Howard threw three personal best tosses to snatch a third place finish with his final throw of 100 feet 2 inches.  Austin Watson placed seventh in the high jump by clearing 4 feet 10 inches and seventh in the long jump jumping 14 feet 5 ½ inches.     

Jacob McLeod cruised his way to two first place finishes in the mile and 800m runs with times of 5:14 and 2:26.  Quillan Holland sprinted to the finish in these same races to clinch second place in the 800m (2:31.46) and third in the 1600m (5:33).  Jack Pharis placed fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 17.97 seconds.  Meadows sprinted to a third place in the 200m with a time of 27.39 seconds and fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.97 seconds.  Watson picked up a point by finishing eighth in the 200m with a time of 28.25 seconds.  Griffin Hill finished seventh in the 400m dash with a time of 69.34 seconds.

The sprint relay team of Jake Walker, Hill, Meadows, and Watson placed seventh with a time of 55.19 seconds.  The mile relay team of Watson, Meadows, Holland, and McLeod sealed their second place team finish with a fourth place time of 4 minutes 30 seconds
