Trinity Graduate Jorie Walker Named All-American Scholar-Athlete

Trinity graduate and Georgia Southern softball player Jorie Walker was recently named an All-American Scholar Athlete.  Congratulations to Jorie on her hard work and well deserved accomplishments. 

STATESBORO, GA.–Georgia Southern Softball earned 12 slots on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s All-America Scholar-Athlete list. In October the Eagle team was recognized as a NFCA All-Academic Team. As a team, GSU ranked 22nd nationally among Division I teams in team GPA with a 3.42 team mark.

Seniors Mackenzie Williams, Hanna Ennis and Jorie Walker headlined the list which included Lexi Allen, Breigh Findlay, Emerie Germ, Alexa Lewis, Tyler Sampson, Brooke Red, Gabrielle Story, Andrea Tarashuk and Marla Thompson.

The award was given to any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2011-12 academic year. The Eagles were among a list of thousands of student-athletes from all divisions including 140 NCAA Division I Institutions.
